Winter is finally over, and even here in Saskatchewan,
the snow drifts piled up in the ditches is gone. The moisture level
for the farmers has shown an improvement, and spring rains have been
good. The farmers are well into seeding their crops for this summer,
and it looks like it could be a very good year. Snowmobiling also enjoyed a good season for the winter of 2008 - 2009, the abundant snows came early and stayed late. Other factors however, such as the American and world wide economic meltdown, took their toll. The sale of used snowmobiles soared, but many new models sat in the show room. I look forward to getting my hands on some industry stats for this past season. Overall it was a good year, and thousands of families enjoyed snowmobiling closer to home, as their holiday budgets were slashed by loss of employment. In Michigan, I spoke to many snowmobilers at the Novi Show in the fall, and they told me that job losses were significant. Never-the-less, the turned up in droves to support their snowmobile Novi sports Show. And now we all have to survive this financial tempest, with Obama at the helm. I would have perfered McCain and his snowmobiler side kick Sarah with her husband Todd - but it was not to be. Let's pray for Obama, he's gonna need a miracle to straighten out the mess that Wall Street started. Have a safe summer on your two wheeled toys! zw October 18th 2007 These are the qns we all ask every year at this time. It's tough enough to figure all the logistics about how and when, and with whom. Then someone dies, or gets sick, or has another family emergency to deal with, so the trip gets pulled. Not easy. To minimize your frustration and maximize your snowmobile holiday potential this winter, stay close to Zenwaiter.com. We are working feverishly to get all our snowmobile pages up and running, and to make the sites more helpful than ever. This winter I will focus on the Mini Snowmobile Podcasts, which will be five minute bulletins in an MP3 file, easy and fast to download. They will be full of quick facts and info for the weekend. That's the plan anyways, but we have already had some set backs, beyond the fact that I am not a radio voice anyone would really enjoy. We had one of our lap tops go Ka-Fluey last week. There is 1,000 at least (and that for a demo model) but there is no cash at the moment, so I will have to risk using the one only. Old Faithful! Thanks for reading - keep in touch. If you wanna be ON our snowmobile podcast audio, pls send me an e-mail. zen@zenwaiter.com zw
